Paragon CRTs

Ortho-K (short for Orthokeratology) is a non-surgical solution for patients with myopia (nearsightedness) that uses specially designed contact lenses (like Paragon CRT® lenses) to improve vision.

What are Paragon CRTs?

The goal of CRTs are to correct your vision by eliminating daytime use of eyeglasses or contact lenses. In the FDA trials for Paragon CRT® contact lenses, more than 90% were able to see 20/40 or better (the legal vision requirement for driving without glasses in most states).

The Consequences of Untreated Myopia

When left undiagnosed and untreated, myopia (nearsightedness) can lead to a host of complications, such as reduced ability to learn, and later in life:

  • Cataracts tend to develop sooner in nearsighted eyes.
  • Nearsighted people are 2 to 3 times more likely to get glaucoma.
  • Myopia increases the risk of retinal detachment.

An eye care professional, such as an optometrist or ophthalmologist, can perform a simple examination to determine if the vision issues you’re experiencing are caused by myopia — and put a treatment plan in place that may prevent further complications associated with myopia.

Are Paragon CRTs the right lens for my child?

They are the perfect solution for patients who:

  • Want a lens-free lifestyle during the day
  • Find soft contacts too irritating
  • Are not a LASIK candidate

Paragon CRT has been prescribed to over 1.5 million patients, in over 50 countries worldwide. The risk of wearing Paragon CRT contact lenses is no greater than other contact lenses.

How CRT Contact Lenses Treat Myopia

Imagine a world in which you insert contact lenses at night before bed, and then awake in the morning, remove the lenses, and enjoy the corrective benefits all day long. You could eliminate the distortions, reflections or blur coming from the contaminated surfaces of your glasses or contact lenses and the hassle, discomfort and dry eyes typically associated with these traditional methods of vision correction. If this scenario has caught your eye, then Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) may be the solution you’ve been looking for.

Paragon CRT® contact lenses offer a much more natural vision because no lens is being worn during your daytime hours. This therapeutic contact lens gently reshapes the cornea while you sleep to temporarily correct nearsightedness. Upon waking and removing the lenses, you will experience clearer vision without glasses or contact lenses throughout the day.
