Routine eye exams are important, regardless of your age or physical health. During a complete eye exam, your eye doctor will not only determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses, but will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.
Is your vision blurred or cloudy? Seeing dark spaces in the center of your vision? You might have an eye disease. Contact us as soon as you can.
Your eyes keep changing with every year that goes by, so it's important to uncover eye diseases while they're developing, instead of after they've started to impact your vision. At Issaquah Eyeworks, we can detect these changes and identify eye conditions or diseases early enough to treat and prevent vision loss. Whether you have diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts, or macular degeneration, we’re here to help you maintain the best vision and eye health possible.
If you have any of these conditions, or believe it may be time for your eyes to be evaluated, we advise that you give us a call at 425-391-9331.
Here at Issaquah Eyeworks, we serve all members of the family! It is the recommended by the American Institute of Ophthalmology that children are first seen by an eye doctor between 6 and 12 months of age. This gives eye doctors the opportunity to evaluate your young ones for critical eye malfunctions, infections or early childhood myopia.
The Optos OCT (Optical Coherence Technology) Exam is an imaging device used to take cross-section photographs of your retina. These images of the retina are hugely important for diagnosing serious eye diseases or dysfunctions early, such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and AMD. A patient who elects to receive an OCT exam during their appointment will pay an imaging fee of $49, and will not have to dilate their eyes.
Rates of nearsightedness (or myopia) are climbing astronomically every year. By 2050, half of the world’s population is expected to be nearsighted. That’s concerning, as being nearsighted significantly heightens the risk of developing sight-threatening eye diseases later in life, such as cataracts, glaucoma, retinal detachment and macular degeneration.
Our doctors work closely with each family and customize treatment programs for every child based on their unique needs. Patients are thoroughly evaluated, carefully monitored, and reviewed frequently in order to check progress and modify treatments to ensure the best outcomes.
